EPC In the Groove (SLF)

In the Groove is a son of the legendary Accoyo male NWA Ltd Ruffo, who was imported into the US from Peru in 1994 and subsequently to Australia, where he had a significant impact in the development of the Australian herd.

Groove was shown just once before being imported to the UK and won Intermediate Fawn Male at the Royal Melbourne Show in 2005.

He possesses great density, advanced crimp and strong bone structure. His first two fleeces were tested at around 17 microns, and aged four he is still holding a micron of around 20.

His first crias hit the ground in 2008 and are looking impressive. Groove is a true impact male with the potential to make significant improvements to your herd.

Inca Ashby (SB)

Inca Ashby is from well-known specialist black alpaca breeders Inca Alpaca. His sire is Koricancha Sinbad, an imported Peruvian black male whose progeny have been very successful, and his dam Field Burcote Lyra, a multiple show-winner in her own right.

Ashby was shown extensively in 2007 and had an almost unblemished record of wins in the intermediate black male class including wins at the Royal Bath and West and the Royal Show.

Ashby's show success and his choice as our stud male is based on his conformational correctness and that rare thing among black alpacas: a crimpy, fine and very dense fleece.

This year he has taken to his stud duties with gusto, and has a number of females spitting off.  Watch out for his first progeny in 2009.

Forge Macusani (SW)

Forge Macusani is a son of Wessex Mateus and has as his grandsire Purrumbete Highlander. On his dam's side he also has Purrumbete El Dorado as his grandsire. These alpacas were two of the most illustrious males ever imported from Peru, and are generally agreed to be among the foundation animals of the Australian herd.

Mac had a brief but successful show career in 2005 winning his class at the South of England Show and reserve at the prestigious BAS National in a very competitive class of 16.

His 5th fleece this year was tested at 21 microns and he shears one of our herd's biggest fleeces. It  displays a medium amplitude crimp and is extremely lustrous.

Mac is a male with real presence and good strong bone structure. He has proven he can also throw colour - his first cria for us in 2008 is a fine strong light fawn boy (Coire Rinnes) from a white dam.
